Handloom is a device that weaves fabric manually without electricity. Handlooms are eco-friendly. It takes a lot of labor and time to weave fabric. Handloom refers to different types of wooden frames, are used to weave fabrics. Hand woven fabrics are pleasant and long lasting, generates employment for millions of weavers. They create unique designs, textures and patterns that can not be produced with a power looms/machine. Handlooms are time consuming and require a lot of skill, that is why hand-woven fabrics are more expensive than machine made fabrics.

            One of the prime industries in the traditional sector of India is Handloom Industry. It plays a very significant role in the country’s economy.
